Bitcoin maximalists get a bad rap for calling a spade a spade. Usually the people crying about this were called out for their bad behavior or because they are total jackasses. It is pathetic watching grown adults try and come together to create some woke movement to shit on and cancel “tOxIc mAxImAliSts.” In reality Bitcoin toxicity is very important in pushing back against these loser’s bullshit narratives and questionable behavior.
Bitcoin Does Not Care
At the end of the day, people need to realize that Bitcoin does not care about any of this. Bitcoin Maximalists are usually people who have battle scars from previous cycles. Many of us have lost money buying into stupid scammy shit years ago or listening to charismatic grifters only to learn they are idiots and all paths lead to Bitcoin! If you are lucky, you never have to go through this and will just listen to experienced Bitcoiners, or if you are like me, you had to learn the hard way.
Seeing Through The Bullshit
Either way, this is where the fire comes from in many Bitcoiners. You can call it toxic or whatever stupid name you want to attach. In reality, we are people who know the value proposition of Bitcoin, and we see through the illusion of all the get rich quick scams or people only here to grift off the industry or people just trying to sell you something. Bitcoin Maximalists are the canaries in the coal mine. Nine times out of ten we are right, and this hurts peoples feelings.
Net Positive Is A Fantasy!
A lot of people like to use the logic, “These individuals are a net positive to Bitcoin…” overlooking the fact they engage in really scammy or unethical behavior. There is no such thing as someone being a net positive when your actions prove otherwise. This is a common rationalization perpetuated by many of these same bad actors and their friends in an attempt to sugar coat reality and save their reputation. A leopard never changes it’s spots, and it is inevitable, it’s only a matter of time until they are involved in their next racket.
It’s Personal
I know for me, I take it personally when I see people doing shady shit in this game. It reminds me of when I first started learning about this space and got burned. Everywhere you look there is some influencer, podcaster or industry insider with an elloquent pitch shilling some bullshit they are being paid dearly for and often leading naive people off a cliff. These assholes will not be there when you lose your money that you could of just bought Bitcoin with and HODL’d!
Personal Soverignty And Hard Money
After years of watching this circus, you come to a point where you just don’t care what these people think, because you see them for exactly what they are! I am not here for the popularity contest they so love, and I sure as hell am not impressed by fast talking used car salesmen trying to push their wares. I am here for myself and trying to make the best decisions I can for my future. Personal sovereignty and hard money are all I care about.
Canaries In The Coal Mine
In reality, it doesn’t even matter what I think, because like I said, BITCOIN DOESN’T CARE! We are just lucky to be here early experiencing and participating in this incredible monetary movement. I want to encourage more people to speak their minds and call out bad actors with questionable ethos. If they want to call us “tOxIc” for this, fuck em’! If they fear and loath us, it means we are doing our job. It’s important that we continue to be the canaries in the coal mine calling out these asshats. If we don’t, no one will!
